Nowhere to Go....
All of these pigs are currently waiting for homes in local Midwest rescues.
Thousands of guinea pigs find themselves homeless and hungry every day. Many are cold, starved, sick, injured or pregnant at a dangerously young or old age, and in desperate need of shelter, food, and veterinary care. These lost pigs come from unwanted litters, breeders looking to get out of the business, pet owners unable to care for their animals, or personal herds that have bred out of control. Some are simply abandoned, while others are dumped at animal shelters that don't know how to care for them. Unlike dogs and cats, most shelters don't accept small animals, making their situation even more dire.
But You Can Help
Your donation to the Crochet Cavy Cozies Rescue Fund, whether large or small, can help provide food, shelter, and veterinary care to pigs that otherwise would go overlooked and possibly suffer a lonely, terrible fate. You can use the section at the bottom of the order form to add a donation to your order, or use the instant Paypal button below. Your money will go to a local volunteer-based, donation-dependent guinea pig or small animal rescue. Many of these rescues are run out of volunteer foster homes, and money is tight--anything you can contribute will help!
Gwyn and Kessie were found living in a shed in the dark, without proper food, water or ventilation. They were both pregnant when they were still babies themselves. But they were lucky. Thanks to the generosity of the Wisconsin Guinea Pig Rescue, Gwyn and Kessie were nursed back to health and cared for through their pregnancies and deliveries, before being adopted into a loving home--ours. They are now both happy, healthy pigs who are friendly and so happy to have a second chance at life.
